Used Oil Filter Collection and Recycling

Used oil filters are hazardous because used oil contains carcinogens and heavy metal particles which are bio-accumulative. Used oil filters that are not processed may end up in a landfill, where the used oil seeps into the ground and causes groundwater contamination. One litre of used oil can contaminate up to 1 000 000 litres of water. Used oil filters also create methane gas when in landfills, which is harmful. The generator of used lube oil remains responsible to manage and ensure the safe disposal of all waste.
